Jack — Our First Veteran Wish
When 77-year-old Navy veteran Jack’s refrigerator stopped working, it created a daily challenge that many take for granted. Living on a fixed income, replacing it simply wasn’t in his budget.
Senior Wish Makers stepped in to grant Jack’s wish — a simple but meaningful gift that brought comfort, stability, and peace of mind back into his home.
Our Veterans Program
America’s veterans answered the call when our country needed them most. Many now face their senior years with limited resources, health challenges, and dreams that seem out of reach.
Senior Wish Makers is proud to serve those who served us—granting meaningful wishes to low-income older veterans across Oregon.
Types of Wishes We Grant
Our veteran wish program follows the same guidelines as our standard wish program, with special consideration for the unique experiences and needs of those who served our country.
- Reuniting with fellow service members
- Travel to see family (within the continental U.S.)
- Visits to military memorials
- Special events tied to military service or personal interests
- Comfort and mobility equipment
- Items that enhance daily living
- Technology to help stay connected with loved ones and fellow veterans
To qualify for our Veterans Wish Program:
- Oregon resident and U.S. citizen
- Age 65 or older
- Veteran status (any branch)
- Annual household income under $35,000
- Able to experience and participate in the wish
