At Senior Wish Makers, we believe in the power of fulfilled dreams. Our mission is to grant meaningful wishes for Oregon’s low-income seniors, bringing joy, dignity, and connection to their lives. Whether it’s reuniting with family, experiencing a special event, or receiving an item that enhances daily comfort, we’re here to make those wishes come true.

Wish Recipient Requirements

To qualify for a wish from Senior Wish Makers, the nominee must:

Be a resident of the State of Oregon and a U.S. Citizen
Be 65 years of age or older
Have an annual total household income less than $35,000
Be cognitively, emotionally, and physically capable of communicating and experiencing the wish
Be able to fulfill the wish on their own or with family assistance
Understand that proof of age, income, and physician's clearance may be required if approved for the wish

Types of Wishes We Grant

Senior Wish Makers fulfills a variety of wishes for eligible seniors, including:

Travel to see friends or family: Family reunions, hometown visits, reconnecting with loved ones
Classes: Music, art, computer, or other learning opportunities
Special events: Sporting events, concerts, theater performances
Electronic devices: Tablets, computers, and other technology to keep in touch with family and friends
Household appliances, furniture and mobility equipment: Lift chairs, microwaves, air conditioners, walkers, and other items that enhance quality of life

Wish Restrictions

While we strive to fulfill as many wishes as possible, certain types of requests fall outside our scope. We cannot provide:

Financial assistance (cash payments, bills, rent, etc.)
Harmful or dangerous wishes
Medical items – including surgery, prescriptions, hearing aids, dentures
Vehicles (purchase or repairs)
Housing repairs or maintenance
Travel outside the continental U.S.

Note: Applications submitted by email or mail will take longer to process.

What to Expect After Submission

Upon receipt of your application:

Initial Review: A Senior Wish Makers representative may call or email you to discuss the wish and gather additional information.
Committee Review: A volunteer committee meets every month to review applications for approval. All wish requests are carefully considered based on our guidelines and available resources.
Notification: All applicants will be notified of approval or denial after committee review.
Wish Fulfillment: If approved, the wish fulfillment process begins. Depending on the nature of the wish, it could take up to 90 days to fulfill.

Please allow plenty of time for approval and planning. We regret that not every qualifying wish can be granted. Senior Wish Makers has sole discretion in the decision to grant or deny a specific wish from an applicant.
